Gulf Air and Tamkeen recently inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide 40 Bahraini nationals with an opportunity to partake in on-the-job training within Gulf Air’s Technical Division for aviation skills and experience.
The MoU will see Gulf Air and Tamkeen join forces to provide a comprehensive programme of intensive on-the-job training for Bahraini nationals looking to pursue careers in aviation as aircraft technicians or engineers
Gulf Air acting chief executive officer Maher Salman Al-Musallam said: “One of Gulf Air’s long-term goals is to help enhance the aviation skills and experience of Bahrainis. We look forward to supporting and strengthening of the Kingdom’s people development further affirming the commitment to developing a national workforce of aviation professionals.”
The airline’s relationship with Tamkeen has previously provided comprehensive training for Bahraini pilots, engineers and cabin crew. In 2010, Gulf Air became the first airline in the GCC to launch a joint-initiative with Tamkeen to encourage more Bahrainis to join the national carrier in key customer-facing positions such as flight crew.
