Diversification is the key to growth for Qatar Airways. The airline recently inked a Memorandum of Understanding with Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. The agreement was signed for purchase of up to 20 Gulfstream aircraft.
The announcement was in conjunction with Gulfstream’s introduction of its all-new family of business jets – Gulfstream G500 and G600.
The MoU spells out an order up to 20 Gulfstream aircraft, including firm orders and options for the all-new, wide-cabin G500 and flagship G650ER.
Akbar Al Baker, group chief executive, Qatar Airways said: “We are moving with the times and to keep pace with future strategic growth plans of our private jet division, the fleet is being expanded with aircraft that meet needs of our guests and that provide a wide range of options.”
The new aircraft G500 showcases an all-new design and is also technologically advanced. The aircraft will link Doha nonstop with London, Geneva and Paris and is expected to enter service in 2018.
