Hilton Worldwide made a stylish debut in Myanmar this week, with the opening of Hilton Nay Pyi Taw in the national capital.
The hotel boasts 202 rooms and suites with Wi-Fi capabilities, and flat-screen televisions offering satellite TV channels. Room options include one-bedroom suites, two-bedroom suites and two Presidential Suites.
Geared for the business travellers and government delegations, Hilton Nay Pyi Taw offers five function spaces and a 458m2 ballroom, as well as a business centre.
There are three restaurant and bar options, including The Elements all-day dining restaurant, Boardwalk poolside bar, and the Axis Lounge in the hotel lobby.
Finally, recreational facilities include a spa, the outdoor swimming pool, the fitness centre and the tennis court.
Set amid lush tropical landscaped gardens, the Hilton Nay Pyi Taw spans more than 100 acres of land within the developing Dekhina Thiri Township. This location is close to main government administrative offices and is a 30-minute drive from the Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.
“The opening of Hilton Nay Pyi Taw today is a very significant milestone for Hilton Worldwide; it marks the entry of the company into the dynamic and emerging market of Myanmar,” said Martin Rinck, president for Asia Pacific at Hilton Worldwide.
“Being one of the first international hospitality companies to enter many different countries in Asia Pacific – including Japan 51 years ago, China 26 years ago and Myanmar today – we continue to explore new frontiers, being where the world’s business and leisure travellers want to be.”
