Competitions
Qatar Tourism Authority and Qatar Airways will be running a social media competition to celebrate the recent launch of its A380 service from London to Doha. Those that take a selfie in an A380 first class seat will be entered into a draw to win a luxury mini-break to Doha with Qatar Airways. Runner up prizes include taxi rides to WTM and calligraphy lessons to learn how to write in Arabic.

PROMPERU will be holding a social media competition based on Paddington Bear. Agents are encouraged to head to the stand throughout the show to find out how to find Paddington Bear and win prizes including chocolate and coffee. There’s a daily Pisco Sour cocktail hour too from 12pm.

THAI Airways will give away a pair of return economy tickets to Thailand on Tuesday and Wednesday. Those that drop a business card into the pot on the stand will be entered, with the draw at 4pm.

Take part in Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority’s 3D game and you could win prizes. Cycle and fly around attractions to be in with the chance, but you have to be quick! Agents can also win a 2015 fam trip place if they visit the stand on Wednesday or Thursday for a cultural experience where they will learn the ritual of drinking Arabic coffee and have an Arabian perfume taster session. The cultural experiences last 20 minutes and run 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 4pm on Wednesday then 11am, 1pm and 2pm on Thursday.

OYNX Hospitality Group is giving away mini Woolly sheeps and a star prize of a five-night stay in an OZO property to travel agents that compete in the #WhereisWoolly competition. Agents can pick up an entry form from 10am on Thursday and have until 1pm to figure out the clues, find Woolly and take a selfie.

Tourico Holidays will continue its 20th anniversary celebrations at World Travel Market. Having already held parties in Buenos Aires, Hong Kong and Shanghai, the wholesaler will host two events with partners and clients. A competition will run throughout all four days where someone will win a three-day holiday for two to any Omni Resort. A winner will be drawn from a business card drop.

Agents have the chance to get one of Las Vegas’ flashing signs if they visit the stand from 2pm on the Thursday.

Feefo will continue its ‘Eat Sleep Rave Repeat’ mantra by giving away its yellow t-shirts at the show. But only the first 50 travel agents that have seen the video and perform the dance moves at the stand will be able to get one! If you’re shy you can visit the stand anyway to hear plans for 2015 and about Feefo Places.

TAP Portugal is giving away flights to Lisbon, Porto or Madeira. Just drop your card off during the event for a chance to win.

On stand food and drink
Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda Tourism Boards have joined forces to host the East Africa Festival on Wednesday from 6pm. Regional delicacies will be served throughout while traditional music and cultural dances take place. The three nations are working together to promote the region following the launch of a joint visa in February.

Taiwan Tourism Bureau has planned a travel agent get together on Wednesday at 5.30pm where you will be able to meet local experts and talk about the region. The Taiwan Festival will also take place at 6pm where new mascot Oh!Bear will be in action.

Visit Flanders is offering Belgian beer tutored tasting on Monday from 3pm but if you can’t make it then head to the stand from 6pm on Wednesday when the Flanders Festival will take place. Belgian beers, fries and ice cream will be available with DJs flown in too.

Choose Chicago will be offering Garrett’s popcorn to those that are around on Tuesday. Get there quick though, there’s a limited amount!

The View from the Shard will host a champagne silent disco at 5pm on Wednesday (limited availability) and will showcase a new virtual reality experience on the stand using Oculus Rift headsets.

Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt will host a silent disco on Las Vegas’ stand on Monday at 11am. The best dancer will win a trip for two to Las Vegas, we can’t wait to see who that is…

Europcar has two photo-worthy moments during the show. On Monday morning Ray Parlour will launch its new Golf Buggy Service available at ExCeL London from its new Europcar Mobility Centre in the hall. It will then showcase the Mercedes-Benz E300 BlueTEC Hybrid SE Saloon on Wednesday at 10.30 in support of World Responsible Tourism Day.

Big Bus Tours will have Shaun the Sheep on stand to mark its sightseeing partnership with the famous Aardman creation.

Dutch designer Jan Gunneweg will be on the Holland stand making one of his signature wooden bicycles. One bike will be made on Monday through to Wednesday. The Heineken Experience is exhibiting on the stand this year too, so you might be able to grab a beer while you’re there.
