A new online community and recruitment site for the travel, tourism and hospitality industry has been officially launched in Australia.
JITO (Jobs in Travel Online) was created by Helene Taylor, former CEO of TMS Asia Pacific, to help address the manpower shortage in the sector, and as a means of allowing industry professionals to interact online.
Ms Taylor called JITO “an alternative to other job boards which don’t meet the needs of the industry”. Instead, the new platform brings together travel and hospitality companies and candidates in an online environment where employers can offer their roles to a targeted audience of industry professionals. Travel, tourism and hospitality staff can join the site free of charge.
The JITO website is compatible with mobile and tablet devices, as well as laptops, and provides regular news and updates from the industry.
“The most important part of any company is its people, and our goal at JITO is to help you be connected to that talent,” Ms Taylor said. “I am passionate about building the capability of our travel, tourism and hospitality industry and I truly believe that JITO will be a key way of doing that.”
The www.jito.co website is now live, with hundreds of jobs on offer from employers such as American Express, Expedia, Wego and Flight Centre. A launch offer is allowing employers to post their roles on the site at no charge until 31 December 2014.
