Airbus recently shed light on air traffic trends, energy harvesting and breakthrough technologies at the ‘The Future by Airbus’. The event was jointly held by Oman Air and Airbus under the Patronage of HE Mohsin Khamis Al Balushi, advisor to ministry of commerce & industry board member of Oman Air. Oman Tourism College hosted the event which aimed to challenge students to think more innovatively for the future of aviation.
More than 200 students were inspired by the visions of sustainable aviation in 2050. Attendees also watched a special screening of Airbus’ ‘Smarter Skies’ movie, latest instalment in ‘The Future by Airbus’.
“We recognize the region’s aviation industry is at turning point, and its success rides with our future talent. It’s important for us to invest in the next generation of aviation experts, as innovation flourishes with inspiration,” said Paul Gregorowitsch, CEO of Oman Air.
Airbus highlighted some of the key developments such as the use of alternative fuels and supporting plans for more efficient air traffic management. This can happen with the right combination of technology and talent – along with right investment, support and cooperation.
