A new company has been founded that offers walking holidays across South Asia.
Wandering the World was officially launched this week by Glenyce Johnson, former managing director at Peregrine Adventures, and Jane Reed, Peregrine’s ex marketing director, and will undertake its first trip to Sri Lanka at the end of January. Other destinations for Wandering the World will include India, Nepal and Bhutan, as well as Spain and Portugal.
“Our inspiration for launching Wandering the World has been fuelled by our passion for discovering new places, our curiosity of other cultures and the interesting people we meet,” explained Ms Johnson. “Our appetite for travel is endless, re-visiting the places we love and venturing to corners of the globe less explored.”
Destinations Wandering the World is focusing on initially are the pilgrim-walking trails of Spain and Portugal, plus trekking in Nepal and Bhutan and touring in India and Sri Lanka.
And the company’s founders have plenty of experience; between them, the pair has travelled to 100 countries across all seven continents, and Ms Johnson once completed the Camino de Santiago – an 800km pilgrimage walk across France and Spain.
