The Mandalai has 12 suites right on the beach, with private in-room dining and jacuzzis.
The resort opened in April and currently has a 60%-plus occupancy rate in the low season, a figure expected to reach 80-90% in the year-end high season, the report said.
Last year, some 332,624 tourists visited Koh Phangan, almost all of them foreigners.
On average each tourist stays on Koh Phangan for a week and spends at least 1,000 baht (US$32) per day, based on Tourism Authority of Thailand data. The island generated Bt 2.56 billion in tourism revenue last year.
