Air Seychelles and Etihad Airways are operating two special charter flights from Beijing this month.
Taking advantage of the rise in outbound Chinese traffic during the Lunar New Year holidays, the two carriers have joined forces with Chinese travel company, Caissa Touristic, to offer special flights connecting Beijing with the Seychelles via Abu Dhabi.
The first flight arrived in the Seychelles on 20 February, while the second is due to touch down on 27 February.
Manoj Papa, CEO of Air Seychelles, said the additional flights would “inject over US$1 million into Seychelles over a two-week period”.
“China is an important and growing market, which we are keen to support because of its potential value to Air Seychelles and tourism within the Seychelles,” Papa said. “This is a unique opportunity to introduce the Air Seychelles’ brand in mainland China, in partnership with Caissa Touristic, which is already well established in the market.”
The charter flights will be operated using an Air Seychelles Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 18 seats in business class and 236 in economy.
