The Sun group has unveiled its first hotel in Sri Lanka.
The new Sun Aqua Pasikduah officially opened its doors on 5 March 2015, following a soft launch in December. One of the first five-star boutique resorts in Pasikudah Bay, on Sri Lanka’s east coast, the resort will offer just 34 suites and two ‘grand beach pavilions’, all of which overlook the sea. Some units also have their own private plunge pools.
The resort has two restaurants, including a beachfront outlet, plus the Pavilion bar which features a glass-enclosed wine cellar, while leisure facilities include an infinity-edged outdoor pool, spa, gym, beauty salon, watersports centre and tennis and badminton courts.
Sun Aqua Pasikduah becomes the first member of the new Sun Aqua brand, but two more are expected to be added in 2015 and 2016, both of which will be located in the Maldives.
Sun currently operates the Sun Siyam Iru Fushi in the Maldives, and also has plans to launch a second Sun Siyam property in Sri Lanka.
