As the popularity of river cruises continues to increase with record numbers of UK passengers, CLIA UK & Ireland has unveiled details of a series of events designed to help travel agents take advantage of this growing sector.
The first, a River Cruise Masterclass, is a daytime event taking place in London on 7 July that will feature dedicated training on all aspects of river cruising including how to increase sales, together with the opportunity to hear from CLIA member river cruise operators.
On 17 September, an evening River Cruise Showcase will take place in Manchester. The event will provide agents with the chance to network with 12 river operators that provide itineraries across the world. Registration for the event opens on 7 July.
And in November, the ever-popular River Cruise Convention will take place in Amsterdam with a record eight ships being available for visits. The fourth River Cruise Convention takes place on 22 & 23 November with ships from Amadeus River Cruises, AMA Waterways, A-Rosa, CroisiEurope, Riviera Travel, Scenic Tours, Tauck and Uniworld. Five of the ships will be brand new to the event for 2015.
CLIA UK & Ireland director, Andy Harmer said: “With the continued investment in new, more innovative ships and the ever-increasing choice and diversity of itineraries in Europe and further afield, it’s no surprise that more UK passengers than ever are opting for river cruises as their holiday choice. The CLIA river events are designed for both those agents who already sell river and those who want to break into this sector.”
