MSC Cruises has confirmed that it has suspended all remaining calls in Ukraine and Egypt for the upcoming winter season.
The company’s MSC Sinfonia, MSC Opera, MSC Fantasia and MSC Musica were all due to make port calls in either of the two countries from autumn 2015 to winter 2016, but these have now been cancelled due to “the on-going political unrest” in both nations.
MSC has instead decided to replace the Ukraine and Egyptian calls with cruises to Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus and Israel.
Under the new schedules, MSC Opera’s 12-night and MSC Fantasia’s 11-night eastern Mediterranean cruises will sail to the Greek islands of Rhodes and Crete, instead of Alexandria. And MSC Sinfonia’s 12-night eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea sailings will visit the Bulgarian port of Burgas instead of Odessa, Ukraine.
Finally, all Egyptian port calls have been removed from the ‘Grand Voyages’ of MSC Sinfonia and MSC Musica. MSC Sinfonia will instead visit Crete and the Israeli city of Eilat, while MSC Musica will call at Crete.
