Ethiopian Airlines has launched its first ever flights to Japan.
The airline’s new route to Tokyo Narita Airport commenced on 21 April 2015 and will now operate three times a week, departing Addis Ababa every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2215 and arriving in Tokyo at 1930 the next day.
The return flights then depart Narita every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 2045, arriving back in the Ethiopian capital at 0600 the following day.
“As the only direct service between Africa and Japan, our flights to Narita will give our customers the best possible connectivity options,” said Ethiopian Airlines’ CEO, Ato Tewolde Gebremariam.
Ethiopian will operate the new route using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with a stop in Hong Kong in both directions.
