Carnation Hotels, which operates India’s Lemon Tree brand, has signed an agreement to manage a new budget hotel in the city of Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu.
Located on the city’s Rockins Road, the Red Fox Hotel Tiruchirappalli offers 70 rooms, and will now undergo a complete refurbishment by the Lemon Tree team, before reopening in October 2016.
All Red Fox hotels offer cafes, laundry services and free Wi-Fi.
The hotel is owned by local real estate company, N Kishnasamy & Sons.
“Trichy has always been a landmark city in the history of Tamil Nadu,” said Rattan Keswani, chairman of Carnation Hotels. “It attracts a lot of leisure and business travellers. We are excited about including it in our portfolio and are delighted to partner with N Krishnasamy & Sons for their second project with us.”
Under its three brands, including the upscale Lemon Tree Premier, midscale Lemon Tree Hotels and budget Red Fox Hotels, Carnation now operates a portfolio of 26 hotels in 15 cities across India, comprising more than 3,000. In Tamil Nadu, the company already has hotels in Chennai and is currently constructing a property in Coimbatore.
