Vistara launched its first ever flight to Lucknow on 18 May.
The new service from Delhi to the capital of Uttar Pradesh, India’s most populous state, will initially operate daily, with flights departing Delhi at 1200 and returning from Lucknow at 1355. But from 16 June, the airline will add a second daily flight on the route, leaving Delhi at 0730 and returning at 0925.
“We are steadily expanding our pan-India footprint, and the addition of Lucknow to our network seemed the most logical way to grow,” said Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO of Vistara.
“Lucknow has emerged as a leading commercial hub in the state of Uttar Pradesh while also offering a huge potential for tourism. In fact to mark our foray into this city we are also looking forward to adding a flavour of the Awadhi cuisine to our menu on-board. We are optimistic about the opportunities that this destination will offer for corporate and leisure travel to our customers.”
Lucknow becomes Vistara’s ninth destination in India, following Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Goa, Hyderabad, Bagdogra and Guwahati. The airline operates all its routes using a fleet of three-class Airbus A320 aircraft.
