Teams at 21 UK hotels will serve up a sizeable donation to charity following their National Waiters Day celebrations.
Employees working at properties managed by the UK’s largest independent hotel management company, Redefine|BDL Hotels, took part in a raft of local activities – including Tray Races – on Thursday, 21 May.
And their activities raised more than £2,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support, Redefine|BDL Hotels’ chosen charity.
More than 250 employees from across the hotels took part in the races on the day, coinciding with the main Waiters Day Race in London’s Hyde Park.
Julie Harper, head of Food and Beverage for Redefine|BDL Hotels, said: “National Waiters Day is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the hard work of our front-of-house teams, as they’re the reason that guests at hotels across the group are so well looked after. It’s also a great chance for everyone to do their bit for charity whilst having some fun.
“The teams gave their all and were great sports, and I’d like to thank them all for taking part and organising such fantastic celebrations.”
