In a recent development, China inaugurated a new land crossing into Tibet for Indian pilgrims, as reported by Reuters.
This was implemented for those visitors following both Hinduism and Buddhism.
The first group of pilgrims entered Tibet via a Himalayan pass for the 12-day trip to Mount Kailash, as reported by the official Xinhua news agency.
The opening of the pass was agreed last year when Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to India. The move will “further promote religious exchanges between two countries,” Xinhua reported.
