With five months still to go until Christmas, UK holiday rental firm holidaycottages.co.uk has reported a surge in Christmas holiday bookings during the first half of 2015.
Holidays in the UK for the 2015/2016 festive season are proving popular with bookings up 58 per cent between 1st January and 30th June 2015 year-on-year, and 76 per cent in the last quarter alone (1st April to 30th June 2015 year on year), the company said.
“Brits are putting the holiday back into the Christmas holidays this year by escaping the usual stresses of the festive season,” said the company’s MD, James Morris. “Guests are preparing for December earlier and booking their holidays further in advance than they did last year, which we’ve seen in our first and second quarter booking statistics.”
Holidaycottages.co.uk has also reported a 145 per cent increase in the number of web searches for UK cottage breaks this Christmas in the past quarter and 134 percent in the first half of 2015 overall.
