PTT Family, the company behind the Potato Head clubs in Bali and Singapore, will enter the hotel sector later this year with the launch of a new boutique property in Bali.
The Katamama, which set to make its debut in December 2015, will be a 58-room hotel in the upmarket Seminyak area of the island. The company said the design-led hotel would combine traditional Balinese elements with modern luxury amenities.
“We are very excited about the launch of PTT Family’s first hotel property,” said Ronald Akili, CEO of the PTT Family. “All aspects of The Katamama will embrace local culture and craft. We hope to pay homage to the traditional Balinese lifestyle while creating a hotel experience that guests want when staying in modern Seminyak.”
The Katamama will be built using Indonesian materials such as Balinese bricks, teak and handmade tiles from Java.
All rooms will have private own outdoor spaces including terraces and gardens, and some with have private pools. The 268m² one-bedroom penthouses will cover two floors and feature spa baths, rain showers, dining and lounge areas and a bar. They will also have access to a rooftop garden offering ocean views. The presidential penthouse suite meanwhile, will offer two bedrooms and an entirely private rooftop garden.
The hotel will also include its own MoVida x Potato Head restaurant, plus the Akademi bar.
The Katamama is the first of three planned PTT Family hotels to be built in Bali. The second project, The Kataoma, will open in 2018, while The Katamama Canggu will launch in 2019.
