Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts has unveiled the latest member of its growing portfolio in mainland China, the Shangri-La Hotel Tangshan.
Located in the city of Tangshan, which lies in Hebei province, two hours’ drive from Beijing, the new luxury hotel forms part of the Tangshan Kerry Property complex and adjoins a shopping mall and park.
Shangri-La Hotel Tangshan offers 301 rooms and suites ranging from 45 to 135m², plus 34 apartments with up to two bedrooms. There is also a club lounge for premium guests.
F&B options at the new hotel include Chinese and international restaurants, plus a lobby lounge, while leisure facilities include a 24-hour gym, yoga and aerobics studio, an indoor swimming pool, kids’ pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms.
And for the MICE market, the hotel offers a 1,800m² ballroom – the largest in Tangshan – plus a selection of smaller function spaces.
Hong Kong-based Shangri-La is rapidly expanding its portfolio in mainland China, with 46 hotels currently operating and eight more in the pipeline. The new Midtown Shangri-La Hangzhou will be the next to open later this year, followed by new properties in Harbin, Jinan, Xiamen and Yingkou in 2016.
