Nantong, a city in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu, will welcome its first ever international flight later this year.
T’way Airlines, the South Korean low-cost carrier, will commence flights from Seoul to Nantong on 2 October. The service will run twice a week (Mondays and Fridays) using a 189-seat Boeing 737 aircraft.
Set on the banks of the Yangtze River, Nantong is a city of approximately two million people. The city’s airport, Nantong Xingdong, currently handles flights by domestic carriers including Air China, China Southern, Sichuan Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines.
The launch will continue T’way Airlines’ international expansion; the LCC currently operates to destinations in China, Japan, Taiwan and Southeast Asia, is planning to launch services to Guam in September 2015.
