Plateno Hotels Group has unveiled the latest stage in its South Asian expansion strategy, with the launch of its first property in the Maldives.
The former Plumeria Boutique Guest House has now been taken over by Plateno and rebranded as the 7 Days Premium Plumeria Resort Maldives.
Located in the Vaavu Atoll, the new 7 Days resort offers 100 rooms, all with sea views, plus a swimming pool, restaurant, sky bar and water sports centre. Plateno said the resort will now “undergo improvements to both the product and services” in line with the 7 Days brand standards.
And the opening will mark the start of a significant spell of growth for Plateno in the Maldives; the company now has five resorts under development in the country, ranging from midscale to luxury properties.
This coincides with the company’s expansion in Sri Lanka. Plateno will make its debut in the country this month with the opening of the Ranna 212 Beach Resort in Tangalle. And then in March 2016 it will launch the 181-room ZMAX Fairway Colombo – its first property in Sri Lanka’s capital city.
