Hilton has announced the opening of a new hotel in Odaiba, overlooking Tokyo Bay.
The 15-storey Hilton Tokyo Odaiba offers views of the bay and access to the rest of Tokyo via from Daiba station, which is directly connected to the hotel. It is also 20 minutes’ shuttle bus ride from Haneda Airport.
“Odaiba is one of Tokyo’s most popular tourist destination[s]… famous for its shopping centres, museums and landmarks such as the Fuji TV,” said Rob Palleschi, Hilton’s global head of full service brands.
“The Hilton brand’s legacy in Japan goes back to the opening of our first Hilton hotel in Akasaka, Tokyo in 1963. Today… we now have 10 Hilton-branded hotels across key locations in Japan including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Okinawa.
“Hilton Tokyo Odaiba is strategically located to continue delivering modern service hospitality and innovative product offerings synonymous with the Hilton brand to both Japanese guests as well as global travellers visiting Tokyo,” he added.
The new Hilton features 453 rooms and 17 suites, all with views of Tokyo Bay and the Rainbow Bridge. It also features six F&B outlets, including Japanese and Chinese restaurants, a fitness centre, spa, indoor pool, a 24-hour business centre, 1,200m² ballroom and two wedding chapels.
Hilton Tokyo Odaiba becomes the company’s sixth in the Kanto region, following Hilton Tokyo, Conrad Tokyo, Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa, Hilton Tokyo Bay and Hilton Narita.
“Hilton Tokyo Odaiba is a significant addition to our portfolio in Japan and the Kanto region and underscores our deep commitment to serving this market. The location makes the hotel a great base for both leisure and business travellers visiting Tokyo, and positions us well to capture opportunities from Japan’s rising inbound tourism and the momentum building for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020,” said Timothy Soper, Hilton’s vice president of operations for Japan, Korea & Micronesia.
