Meliá Hotels International has continued its Indonesian expansion efforts with the signing of a new property in Bandung.
Scheduled to open in 2017, the new Innside by Meliá Bandung will form part of the new Maj Collections Hotel & Residences, which will rise 21 stories in the Dago area of north Bandung.
The 233-room hotel will occupy one of two towers in the complex, which will be connected by a roof terrace. Facilities will include children’s play areas, a gym, swimming pool, restaurant and gardens, while the second tower will house residential apartments, a ballroom, meeting rooms and a heliport. The roof terrace that connects the two towers will feature an infinity pool.
“The dynamism in this city and also in the Dago region, combined with the superior quality and stunning design of the hotel and the choice of the urban lifestyle Innside by Meliá brand, are undoubtedly a winning combination that will generate greater recognition and prestige both for Meliá and for the hotel owners,” said Melia’s chairman, Gabriel Escarrer.
Spain-based Melia currently operates four hotels in Indonesia, located in Bali, Jakarta and Yogyakarta. But its expansion plans include the opening of nine more hotels in 2016 and 2017, including properties in Surabaya and Bintan.
