Malaysia Airlines has entered into a partnership with Universal Charter to provide flights between Kota Kinabalu and mainland China.
Under the agreement, the airline will operate 180 charter flights from 15 December 2015 until 31 March 2016, connecting the Sabah state capital with Tianjin, Nanning and Chengdu. The flights will be sold the Chinese travellers.
“We are excited to begin a partnership with Universal Charters which will enable Malaysia Airlines to strengthen its presence in China. This makes good business sense as we will be able to operate and build presence in one of the biggest tourism markets in the world,” said Proteek Sengupta, Malaysia Airlines’ head of strategy & planning.
All flights will be operated using a single-aisle Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
