Wyndham Hotel Group has continued its expansion in South Korea with the signing of a franchise agreement for new Ramada hotel on the tourist island of Geoje.
Scheduled to open in mid-2018, the 186-room Ramada Suites Geoje forms part of a major roll-out of the Ramada brand in Korea, with 17 new properties on track to open in the country by 2018.
Overall, Wyndham expects to more than triple its Korean portfolio over the next three years, including the introduction of its Howard Johnson brand.
“We’re making an aggressive push to expand our portfolio in South Korea, a rapidly growing market with massive potential for hotel development in destinations across the country,” said Barry Robinson, Wyndham’s president & managing director for Southeast Asia & Pacific Rim.
“This new addition in Geoje will offer that environment while giving guests immediate access to the city’s attractions and the comfortable facilities for which the Ramada brand is known worldwide.”
Located on a hillside overlooking the sea, the new Ramada Suites Geoje will feature a restaurant, lobby lounge, conference room, indoor pool and fitness centre. The island of Geoje is located off the southeast coast of Korea, close to the city of Busan.
