The UK’s Bespoke Hotels has partnered with India’s Peppermint Hospitality as it moves to expand its international operations.
Following the launch of Bespoke’s new overseas arm, Bespoke Hotels International, the company will now incorporate Peppermint’s portfolio of 70+ Indian properties into its boutique hotel collection.
Launched earlier this year, Bespoke Hotels International has been tasked with expanding the Bespoke portfolio of management contracts, franchise locations and marketing agreements overseas. The unit is being overseen by newly-appointed managing director Nick Turner, who has previously worked for brands including Malmaison, Le Meridien, Wyndham, Ramada and Holiday Inn.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Bespoke at a time when both our businesses are growing in stature and ambition,” stated Arjun Baljee, founder & director of Peppermint Hospitality. “I look forward to working closely with Nick and the Bespoke team, as well as infusing our portfolio with a dash of British charm. This will help us create the world’s first global aggregator of boutique hotels across geographies under one brand.”
Formed in 2000, Bespoke Hotels now represents more than 170 properties and has grown to become the UK’s largest independent hotel group. Turner joins the Bespoke team following 20 years in the hospitality industry, mainly in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
“We welcome Nick at a time when we are seeking to explore possibilities beyond the British Isles. His expertise in key foreign markets has already born fruit in India, and we expect this to continue as both Bespoke Hotels and the Gotham brand look to expand,” said Robin Sheppard, chairman of Bespoke Hotels.
