New Zealand will introduce wider passenger security screening at its regional airports after an attempted hijacking on board a domestic flight last week, Prime Minister Helen Clark was quoted saying.
Associated Press said a Somali immigrant faces several charges including attempted hijacking and the wounding of two pilots and a passenger after she allegedly stabbed them last Friday on a domestic flight.
According to the report, she had demanded to be flown to Australia. It landed in the New Zealand city of Christchurch.
