Vistara has moved to enhance its IT infrastructure with the signing of a long-term partnership with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
The deal, which was sealed on 18 April, will see TCS manage the airline’s operational IT, including application maintenance services, network maintenance, end user computing and airport infrastructure support. The two parties also plan to develop new digital solutions which can be taken to other airlines.
“Since the start of Vistara’s journey, TCS has been a key technology partner that assisted us in defining our IT strategy, launch innovation platform items, created dashboards and tracking mechanisms to increase transparency and compliance,” said Phee Teik Yeoh, CEO of Vistara.
“Both parties will now see greater synergies as the expanded partnership will extend many benefits to Vistara from TCS’ vast airline domain capabilities as well as help us leverage its world-class technology and innovation competency.”
Under the terms of the agreement, TCS will provide a scalable model that “reimagines” Vistara’s IT infrastructure. Some of the key projects in the first phase of this partnership are PSS implementation, the development of an e-commerce website, mobile applications, and data analytics.
Girish Ramachandran, president of TCS Asia Pacific, commented; “Vistara is a key strategic customer for TCS, and we are proud to have delivered a state-of-the-art, end-to-end airline platform that has assisted the airline to quickly and successfully enter into a highly competitive market.”
Vistara is part-owned by Tata Sons as part of a joint venture with Singapore Airlines.
