GoAir has launched a new evening flight connecting Srinagar with Delhi.
The carrier flagged off its inaugural flight from Srinagar International Airport this week, in the presence of the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, and GoAir’s CEO, Wolfgang Prock-Schauer.
Prock-Schauer commented; “Pre-empting and understanding the travel needs of different markets is what has made GoAir one of the country’s preferred airlines. We are pleased to facilitate better connectivity to Srinagar.”
The evening flights were announced soon after India’s aviation authorities approved the operation of evening and night flights from Srinagar.
GoAir flight G8229 will now depart Delhi at 1650 and reach Srinagar at 1810. The return flight, G8228, will then take off from Srinagar at 1840 and return back to Delhi at 2005. The service will run until 29 October 2016.
Mehbooba Mufti remarked; “With increased flight connectivity, we are optimistic and hope to see increased commercial and recreational travel in the city. We are pleased that GoAir has taken this step, and are sure that we will see a positive impact on tourism.”
