Rabih Zein has been appointed general manager of Radisson Blu Resort, Sharjah. Formerly a cluster general manager of Park Inn by Radisson Hotel & Residence
Duqm and Park Inn by Radisson Muscat, Zein was accountable for managing revenue and daily operations. In this position, he has been the Women in Leadership Group Leader in Oman; has accomplished the first safe hotel certification in Oman and HACCP for Park Inn Muscat and in addition, has been recognised by Carlson Rezidor as the “leading hotel in responsible business” for efforts in energy consumption at Park Inn Muscat. In his new role, Zein, a French national, will oversee the entire operation and implement leading product and service standards. “I am ecstatic to be leading a group of talented and diligent individuals of the Radisson Blu Resort, Sharjah which is a renowned property in the emirate,” he said.
Laura Zanfirescu has been appointed executive housekeeper at Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites. Zanfirescu began her career in Spain where she quickly moved through the ranks of housekeeping and into an executive housekeeper role at the Intercontinental Mar Menor Golf Resort in Murcia. She then moved to the Accor Hotel group, before re-joining InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) as an internal quality auditor and then shifted to the Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa in Mallorca as an executive housekeeper. Most recently, she worked at the private office of a royal family in the Gulf as an executive housekeeper and was then promoted to assistant general manager of their hospitality operations. Zanfirescu will oversee all housekeeping operations at the Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites.
Pranav Vohra has been appointed director of sales & marketing at Hyatt Regency Dubai. In this new role he will oversee sales planning, strategic marketing, revenue and the annual budget for this 421-room property located in the heritage heart of Dubai. Vohra joins Hyatt Regency Dubai from his role of director of sales for both Grand Hyatt Dubai and Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights. He first became a part of the Hyatt Family in 2005 as guest service officer at Grand Hyatt Dubai. He moved to the sales division in 2006 where he held various positions including associate director of sales at Grand Hyatt Dubai. He later transferred to the opening team of Hyatt Place Dubai/Al Rigga and also assisted with the opening of Hyatt Place Dubai/Banyas Square. He was the cluster director of sales and marketing for Hyatt Place hotels in Dubai before moving back to Grand Hyatt Dubai in February 2016. “It is a privilege to be a part of the team at Hyatt Regency Dubai, an iconic hotel in the city. I look forward to connecting with guests and colleagues to create energizing experiences at this landmark property surrounded by the charming old town of Dubai and the upcoming new Deira Islands,” said Vohra.
