A new mobile app has been launched that allows travel agents, tour operators and DMCs in Southeast Asia to connect with their customers.
Tineri, which now forms part of the Travel Startups Incubator (TSI) portfolio, is a communications app that provides real-time connections between travel companies and their guests, both in-destination and post-trip. It also provides a means of connecting companies with their tour guides.
Other features of the Tineri app include the ability to provide interactive itineraries to guests and to conduct instant satisfaction surveys. Tour operators and DMCs are able to import itineraries from back-office solutions, as well as from Word and Excel formats.
Bangkok-based Tineri’s founder & CEO, Tim Russell, is also the co-founder Representasia, which provides technology and marketing solutions to travel companies in Southeast Asia. The company is being advised by former PATA CEO, Greg Duffell, who has nearly 30 years of travel experience in the region.
“Soon Asia will account for more than half of the world’s online travel transactions,” said Russell. “We believe that by lowering the barrier to entry to mobile itineraries for travel providers of all levels, diversifying into other travel markets including business/incentive, educational, and wellness/medical, and offering a product that is fun and simple to use for operators and travellers alike, we can help create a new paradigm in which mobile travel itineraries are the norm.”
The Tineri team is receiving assistance and feedback from Trails of Indochina, and is currently testing the app with Grasshopper Adventures and Taste of Thailand. More than 10 other tour operators have signed up to try the Tineri app when it is fully launched.
“We’re also in talks with several leading back-office solutions providers for both integration and distribution,” Russell added.
Matt Zito, managing partner at Travel Startups Incubator, commented; “Tineri is entering a massive growing travel market in Southeast Asia as travel providers transition from old school, paper itineraries and fulfilment services to mobile on-demand customer support systems including in-destination services, mobile marketing and post trip content creation.
“According to a recent report by Google Southeast Asia’s online travel business will approach US$76 billion by 2025. We are excited to be working with Tim and his team and believe the TSI Platform will help him grow the business through synergies between our portfolio companies and our deep Innovation Partnerships and Corporate Business Development network growing around the world.”
