Southeast Asia’s first Wyndham Grand hotel will open in Phuket later this year.
Wyndham Hotel Group has announced the signing of a management agreement with Parisorn Company for the new Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay, which is expected to open in November 2016, just north of Patong.
The property will feature 214 hotel rooms and 152 luxury pool villas, which will be managed by Club Wyndham Asia, the company’s vacation rental arm.
“Wyndham Grand hotels are located in some of the world’s most sought after destinations, including Shanghai, Istanbul, Chicago and now Phuket. The brand’s premium offerings… create a perfect platform to deliver our unique mixed-use model to travellers looking for an approachable take on luxurious travel in Thailand,” said Barry Robinson, Wyndham’s president & managing director for Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim.
“This mixed-use development model is unique to Wyndham Hotel Group and our vacation ownership business arm. We are committed to growing our vacation ownership portfolio in Asia and I am sure our Club Wyndham Asia members will appreciate this new luxurious option for their future travels,” he added.
Overlooking the Andaman Sea, Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay will feature Thai and international restaurants, two outdoor swimming pools, a spa, fitness centre, kids’ club and space for meetings and events, including a large ballroom.
“We are extremely proud of what we have been able to accomplish with our latest project, Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay. Not only does the property boast the largest number of pool villas in the Kalim-Patong area, the views are stunning and the overall property is spectacular,” commented Sumit Soontornnont, co-owner of Parisorn Company.
Wyndham is expanding rapidly in Southeast Asia, with the signing of the Phuket property coming just days after the company announced plans to operate the tallest hotel in Danang, Central Vietnam. In total, Wyndham now operates approximately 1,200 hotels across the Asia Pacific region.
