Assembly Rooms Edinburgh has appointed Anna Murricane as business development manager.
The Edinburgh Cultural Venues position also covers city landmarks the Usher Hall, Ross Bandstand and Church Hill Theatre.
In her new role, Murricane will focus on driving conference and events bookings at four of the capital’s highest profile venues. The diverse portfolio caters for a broad range of functions, for anywhere from 10 to 2,300 delegates, and is at the heart of the Fringe Festival each year.
Formerly Groups, Conference and Events Sales Manager at Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian, Anna brings with her over 10 years’ experience in the hospitality and events sector. She worked for the Hilton Group for nine years, latterly at The Caledonian, and also at events agency DADA.
Shona Clelland, Cultural Venues development manager, City of Edinburgh Council said: “Anna is a seasoned events professional and will play a key role in driving revenue generation, attracting new customers and securing repeat business. While the market in Edinburgh is as competitive as ever, our collection of four iconic Edinburgh venues, each with their own unique offering, means we are ideally placed for growth.”
