Passengers travelling between Hong Kong and Seoul will soon have another flight option, following the launch of Hong Kong Airlines’ new route.
Commencing on 16 December 2016, the airline will offer daily flights direct between HKIA and Seoul’s Incheon International Airport, using its twin-aisle Airbus A330 aircraft.
Flights will operate on a split schedule, with morning departures from HKIA every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and evening services on the remaining days of the week.
Hong Kong Airlines will become the ninth airline operating the popular route, following Cathay Pacific, Eastar Jet, Ethiopian Airlines, HK Express, Jeju Air, Jin Air, Korean Air and Thai Airways.
“As the capital of Korean culture, fashion and entertainment, Seoul has long been a favourite among Hong Kong travellers,” said Li Dianchun, the airline’s chief commercial officer. “Hong Kong Airlines will continue to grow our route network in Asia, and strengthen Hong Kong’s position as one of the world’s major aviation hubs.”
In addition, Hong Kong Airlines will increase the frequency of its flights to the Gold Coast and Cairns from three to five times a week for the Christmas period and to daily during Chinese New Year. Services to Auckland will also rise from daily to 10 flights a week over the festive season.
