HG Travel, the Southeast Asian destination management company, has unveiled a new name as it bids to expand its operations across the region.
The company will now be known as “Asia DMC”, reflecting a growth strategy that will see the company open a series of new Asian offices. HG already has a presence in Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Thailand, and plans to add Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, China, India and Sri Lanka to its portfolio over the next 12 months.
“The transition from HG Travel to Asia DMC represents our growth from a local destination management company to expanding into Indochina over the last five years when we opened in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand, and now to a continental player,” said the company’s CEO, Tran Thanh Nam.
“The change of name is also the consolidation of our commitment to the B2B model we have honed for the past two decades as we now look to the future. Our development is testament to our partners, team and ability to deliver consistently high quality and memorable travel experiences. It is now time for us to grow and bring our excellence in service to the world.”
Despite the expansion, Asia DMC says it will retain the “original DNA” that helped it grow in Southeast Asia.
“We are absolutely committed to continuing to offer a holistic service culture, attention to detail and personal touch that has defined our company since the beginning. How we research originality in our programs for our clients and how we take to heart their needs to have a competitive offer is what we thrive on,” added Asia DMC’s director of business development, Armand Cheveux.
In addition to its Asian expansion, Asia DMC is planning to open a sales and marketing office in the US to serve its North American clients. It is also launching a not-for-profit foundation called “People of Asia”.
