Costa has launched the first ever Chinese chartered cruise to the South Pacific.
In partnership with Caissa Touristic, HNA Group’s Chinese travel agency, the Costa Atlantica cruise ship, which can carry more than 2,000 passengers, has embarked on a 46-day cruise to the South Pacific islands. This follows the launch of the first round-the-world cruise from China, which Costa organised in 2015.
“After the success of last year’s world cruise, this new itinerary… marks a special milestone for Costa Asia and China’s cruise industry. I hope all of our passengers will experience an exciting and simply wonderful cruise on Costa Atlantica,” said Buhdy Bok, president of Costa Group Asia.
Chen Xiaobing, president of Caissa Touristic, noted that this will be the first cruise originating in China that crosses both the Equator and International Date Line.
“We hope this cruise will boost the development of China’s cruise industry and enhance the cooperation between China and the South Pacific countries in the field of tourism exchange,” Chen added.
Costa’s South Pacific cruise will visit a total of 12 islands in nine countries, including Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands, Viti Levu in Fiji, Papeete and Bora Bora in French Polynesia, Pago Pago in American Samoa and Rabaul in Papua New Guinea.
