QAIA releases October traffic figures

Queen Alia International Airport welcomed 532,542 passengers in October 2016, down 8% compared to the same period last year (578,867 PAX).
Additionally, QAIA registered 5,630 ACM as opposed to 6,129 ACM in 2015, indicating an 8.1% year-on-year fall.
Meanwhile, cargo rose a slight 0.9% as QAIA handled 8,837 tons as opposed to 8,758 tons during the same month in 2015.
As of the end of October 2016, the airport had welcomed 6,383,193 passengers (PAX) during 2016, up 4.4% compared to the same period in 2015.
Moreover, year-to-date (YTD) aircraft movements (ACM) increased by 2.9% to settle at 62,553 ACM while YTD cargo traffic figures increased by 2.2% to reach 84,124 tons.
The top five growth routes for October were Ankara, Aden, Antalya, Mitiga in Tripoli and Dubai’s DWC airport respectively.
The top five carriers in terms of growth during October 2016 compared to October 2015 were Fly Jordan, Pegasus Airlines, Jordan Aviation, flydubai and Ukraine International Airlines respectively.
