Tiger Airways is now charging for all check-in baggage for bookings after today.
“Unlike other airlines that hide the cost of checked baggage into tickets whether you use it or not, Tiger Airways will separate the fee,” it said in a statement.
The new policy allows 7kg of free cabin baggage, one free handbag and a laptop computer. It will charge S$5 per passenger per flight for 15kg of check in baggage. Other options are also available.
Steve Burns, Chief Operating Officer of Tiger Airways said: “This system brings fairness and equality to the Asian sky for the first time.”
