One may not think the credit crunch would affect the type of people that hire Richard Branson’s private Necker Island. But the Virgin boss is slashing rates for breaks on his Caribbean retreat by up to two-thirds, the Times of London has reported. Three nights on the Caribbean island will now cost ‘only’ GBP78,122 (US$145,500) down from GBP222,088 (US$413,700) for the usual minimum week-long booking.
