Africa hunting ban "would be disaster"

A complete ban on hunting animals in Africa would spell disaster for people living on the continent, the BBC has reported researchers as saying. A report from the Centre for International Forestry Research has said that the practice needs to be legalised, regulated and controlled. Otherwise, the report continues, some large wildlife species, such as elephants and gorillas, may be extinct within 50 years.
Bush meat is a key part of the diet for many in Central Africa, providing around 80% of the protein and fat consumed in some communities.
