Asia has a new hospitality management player, in the form of Akaryn Hospitality Management Services (AHMS). Established by the founder of Aleenta Resorts and Spas, Anchalika Kijkanakorn, the new venture plans to offer management contracts to high end resorts throughout Thailand and the surrounding region under the ‘Akaryn’ and ‘Aleenta’ brands. AHMS has said it will offer services including financial and feasibility studies, pre-opening, through to the profitable operation of the hotels and resorts.
“We understand that running unique resorts demands even higher standards of expertise than when operating traditional hotels. This intimate knowledge is the direct result of having created our own critically acclaimed Aleenta properties,” AHMS Managing Director, Anchalika, said.
In addition AHMS has announced the signature of contract to develop and manage a luxury resort on Koh Krabei, a private island off the coast of Sihanoukville, Cambodia. The project is due to be completed in Q3 2010.
Working with Kijkanakorn, the AHMS team includes Director of Finance, Accounting and Audit, Martijn Dekkerg, who was previously based in Shanghai as the Regional Financial Controller (Asia Pacific) for HB Fuller. Director of Operations and Development is Urs Aebi, whose experience includes being General Manager of The Racha and Alila Cha-Am. Finally Marc Landgraf joins as the Director of Sales with extensive experience in hospitality in Europe, The Caribbean and Asia.
