MasterCard survey confirms AsiaPac spending slowdown

The inaugural MasterCard Worldwide Index of Consumer Purchasing Priorities has revealed that consumer confidence across the region has fallen seven points from six months ago. The results show that due to the economic crisis, consumers are tightening their belts, with 70% of the region’s consumers looking to cut back on their discretionary spend for the next 12 months.
