Chinese arrivals to Bali soar

The number of Chinese tourists arriving in Bali in January 2009 grew 82.6% from 12 months earlier, the Jakarta Post reported, citing the Bali office of Indonesia’s Central Statistics Agency.
According to the agency, 23,111 Chinese tourists visited Bali in January, accounting for 14.0% of the total arrivals that month. Just 12,654 Chinese visited Bali in January 2008.
Last year China ranked as Bali’s third largest source market for foreign tourists, behind Australia and Japan.
