Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) will open its new air traffic control tower later this year, marking the first completed project in the US$6.8 billion redevelopment of the city’s airport, according to The National.
Officials revealed that the 110-metre tall structure will be illuminated from the inside and act like a beacon to aircraft and even motorists on the Abu Dhabi to Dubai expressway. “It will resemble a torch in the evenings,” ADAC’s CEO, Rudy Vercelli, was quoted saying.
