Starting from 10 January Air Mandalay will be flying with its 3 ATR72 aircraft to some new destinations in Myanmar. Tachileik has been included as a new Air Mandalay destination and new routings like daily Heho to Thandwe in the afternoon and daily Mandalay to Bagan flight in the morning have been added to the new schedule.
A special “Discover Myanmar flight” has been added to the normal routing which according to Mr Edwin Briels, the newly appointed Business Development Manager, offers “the perfect way for foreign tourists to see the best of Myanmar”. Mr Briels added that “the new Discover Myanmar flight gives tourists the opportunity for direct flights between the main tourist destinations in Myanmar starting with Mandalay, continuing to Bagan and Heho and finishing with a direct flight to Ngapali beach for some relaxation at the end of the holiday before returning to Yangon. The Yangon - Mandalay - Bagan - Inle Lake - Ngapali - Yangon flight is leaving daily from Yangon at 11:30 following the ideal routing for foreign tourists with direct flight to each must-visit destination without having the early, early, early wake-up calls.”
Edwin continues “Having 3 aircrafts makes it possible for Air Mandalay to offer more direct flights and improve service for our customers. During the flight information about the tourist destinations is given and new plans are currently made to bring the service level up to a new standard”. The airline also introduced a new reservation and ticketing system and has started to send out daily availability of seats schedules. “Although it’s peak season Air Mandalay still has many available seats so we started sending out the daily availability and ask people to reconfirm their reservation and issue the flight ticket at least 3 days before the flight in order to give everybody the possibility to get a seat and travel fast and safe by air.”
