Thai airport traffic falls 1%

Passenger numbers at six of Thailand’s main airports declined 0.9% in 2009, according to the latest data from Airports of Thailand (AoT). Total passenger throughput at the six airports, including Bangkok’s main hub, Suvarnabhumi, fell slightly to 53.93 million. Domestic passenger traffic rose 5.4% to 21.1 million, while international volume dropped 4.5% to 32.9 million. Aircraft movements declined 2.4% year-on-year to 362,476.
