Indonesia’s Minister of Culture & Tourism, Jero Wacik, has hit out at the poor standard of toilet facilities at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport, BaliDiscovery.com reported. At a party to mark the launch of a book marking the airport’s history, Wacik, who is heading a nationwide campaign for cleaner toilets, urged the hub to improve lavatory standards.
“Remember, a survey stated that 70% of people who just get off a plane, the first thing they want is the toilet,” the Minister was quoted saying. “Do not let people travel all the way from Europe and, once they get into Ngurah Rai airport, they complain about the dirty toilets.”
