Rendezvous’ new Christchurch hotel damaged by quake

Following the devastating earthquake that struck Christchurch this week, Rendezvous Hospitality Group has announced that The Marque Christchurch - the property it opened in the city late last year - has temporarily closed. The building, which is one of the tallest in Christchurch, was suffered some structural damage and is awaiting inspection and assessment by authorities. All guests and staff were evacuated and no injuries were sustained. Amid reports of widespread devastation in the New Zealand city, Rendezvous said that the building was “secure”.
