BA cancels more flights
By Admin, 1 April 2008, Tuesday 3:31 PM
British Airways cancelled 50 flights at London Heathrow airport’s new Terminal 5 today, adding that the backlog of stranded luggage was still building up, Bloomberg reported.
The report said the airline had scrapped 13% of scheduled flights from the terminal on the sixth day of disruption at Europe’s busiest airport.
About 342 services were likely to operate, it was quoted saying.
Bloomberg said cancellations caused by the failure of the computerised baggage system numbered more than 300. Bags yet to be claimed had risen to 20,000, it said.
